2014 Candidate Endorsements
CTLCV endorses candidates for the state legislature every election cycle based on their positions and track record on the environment. Endorsed candidates must be committed to protecting Connecticut's land, water, air, and wildlife, and to working for sustainable solutions to pressing state issues like transportation, energy, and waste management. By endorsing candidates who care about environmental values, the League is helping to elect people who will make meaningful decisions that affect the state's environment every day.
2014 Candidate Survey on the Environment
In election years, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters surveys candidates for state office about their positions on pressing environmental issues. We consider candidate responses to our survey in our endorsement process.
Candidate Surveys ask what role candidates will take, if elected, on a variety of environmental issues, and about their top environmental priority. Candidates' survey responses, leadership history, and previous Environmental Scorecard scores are taken into consideration in our endorsement analysis. Additionally, we may invite candidates for interviews. Those candidates' interviews also form part of the basis of our endorsement analysis.
2014 Candidate Responses on the Environment
All candidates for General Assembly were invited to complete the CTLCV survey on environmental issues, regardless of their CTLCV endorsement status. Candidate responses are posted as we receive them.
Check back if you do not see a survey from your local candidate.
"Connecticut's economic and environmental quality of life have always depended on our natural resources. We are counting on our endorsed candidates to champion smart environmental policies that will protect these irreplaceable assets." CTLCV Executive Director Lori Brown
