The 2017 legislative session convened on January 4. There is a new political landscape at the State Capital with new committee leadership and an ambitious environmental agenda. Thousands of bills have been introduced and public hearings have begun. Important votes will follow in the next few weeks. Check this page often for updates because our position on bills can change when they are modified at any point during the session. Below is a list of issues that we are watching this session. Multiple bills have been introduced that relate to each issue and are linked below for quick reference. Many may not be raised for public hearing, some we oppose, and other good bills are being blocked. We will try to notify our members of important public hearings or when key votes are expected.
