2022   Environmental Achievement Awards

PHOTO GALLERY

On November 15, 2022, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters presented the 2022 Environmental Awards at the newly opened Hotel Marcel in New Haven. Coming off the heels of a banner year for environmental legislation, including Connecticut’s commitment to a 100% zero-carbon electric grid by 2040, Hotel Marcel was a unique venue. It is the first net-zero hotel in the country and takes advantage of many modern sustainable technologies that will be highlighted during the event.

Over the past twenty years, the League has evolved into one of the most effective environmental organizations affecting change in Connecticut. We must look back and honor leaders in the state who have shown a commitment to democracy, equity and the environment. That is why chose to host this special evening at Hotel Marcel, the perfect venue for this event. We also recognized Denise Merrill for her lifelong work in democracy and environmental issues, as well as RiseUP For Arts CT, who use the power of artistic murals to bring focus to equity and community issues. Finally, recognized 50 years of service from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
