Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Aimee Berger-Girvalo to represent the 111th House District of the CT General Assembly including the town of Ridgefield. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection. In the recent legislative session, Rep. Aimee Berger-Girvalo earned a perfect 100% rating on CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard. “Berger-Girvalo has demonstrated unwavering commitment to environmental legislation, both as Co-Chair of the Climate Caucus and Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “Her dedication to reducing tailpipe pollution, updating our state’s emission standards for cars and trucks, and expanding much needed infrastructure for electric vehicles underscores her commitment to creating a sustainable future.” Representative Berger-Girvalo has also introduced and championed multiple bills related to energy efficiency and green energy alternatives to heating/cooling, as well as efforts to increase recycling and reduce food waste. Her advocacy extends to reducing toxic pesticides in our environment. This includes restricting Neonicotinoids that are wiping out pollinators, and banning Rodenticides that are deadly to birds of prey. “Representative Berger-Girvalo’s proactive work on key climate issues and legislation that protects human health and our planet make her an invaluable leader in the fight for environmental progress at the Connecticut General Assembly,’ said Brown. To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on candidates’ responses, voting records in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues. Comments are closed.
