She is working to establish restrictions on harmful pesticides including rodenticides and neonics, ensuring that policies protect both our ecosystems and the health of our communities. Endorsements are issued based on candidates’ responses, voting records in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues. He wants to increase state and federal funding to help towns safeguard their coastline infrastructure from severe weather and flooding. Additionally, Simmons envisions Connecticut as a leader in clean energy innovation. His focus on reducing energy costs while creating thousands of new jobs reflects a forward-thinking approach that will position Connecticut for a sustainable and greener future. In response to CTLCV’s Environmental Survey, Simmons writes “I will ensure that our legislature makes smart investments and targeted subsidies so that we can reduce energy costs for families while simultaneously seizing economic opportunities. And when it comes to addressing our state’s waste management problems, Dathan has been working with local environmental leaders in Fairfield County to increase funding to expand the existing food scraps pilot program. She is seeking additional state bond funding to help towns establish sustainable food scraps program. To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment.
