Sen. Cohen has been a driving force behind some of the most impactful environmental legislation in recent years. As Chair of the Environment Committee for four years, she championed and successfully passed critical bills such as modernizing Connecticut’s landmark “Bottle Bill” recycling law, passing the Connecticut Clean Air Act to reduce vehicle emissions, banning single-use plastic bags, and adopting stronger restrictions on pesticides.
