Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Representative Brandon Chafee to represent the 33rd House District District of the CT General Assembly including the town of Middletown. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection. Rep. Chafee has earned a 100% rating on CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard. Rep. Chafee is a strong advocate for environmental legislation, with a particular focus on advancing clean energy initiatives. As a member of the Environment Committee and Vice Chair of the Planning & Development Committee, he leverages his experience as a professional engineer for effective and targeted action in the energy sector. Rep. Chafee helped ensure the Climate Protection Act successfully passed the House chamber in the recent legislative session. He co-sponsored and supported other key initiatives such as expanding solar energy, banning the toxic chemical PFAS from consumer products, advancing energy efficient heat pump deployment, and conducting a study on geothermal energy. Notably, Rep. Chafee initiated the first legislative Climate Caucus in the House, which he still leads and has been active since 2023. The caucus brings together legislators from both the House and Senate chambers committed to addressing climate issues and to pass meaningful legislation to meet our state’s climate goals. Looking ahead, Rep. Chafee will continue to facilitate the efforts of the climate caucus and fight for clean energy solutions that drive sustainable development and protect Connecticut’s natural resources. “Representative Brandon Chafee has proven himself an ally to sustainability and climate action,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “His work advancing solar energy and leading the Legislature’s first Climate Caucus, ensures a cleaner, greener future for Connecticut.” To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses, their voting record in our Scorecard, and their demonstrated leadership on specific issues. ### The CT League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) is a nonpartisan statewide organization dedicated to protecting Connecticut’s environment. CTLCV works to pass equitable and sustainable legislation that impacts our air, land, water, wildlife, and climate and holds all state legislators accountable with an annual Environmental Scorecard.
