Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Eleni Kavros DeGraw to represent the 17th House District that includes Avon and Canton. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection. Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw has earned a perfect 100% rating on our Environmental Scorecard.
Rep. Degraw has made a significant impact on Connecticut’s climate and sustainability efforts. Her past accomplishments include championing updates to CT’s “Bottle Bill” recycling laws, supporting the Clean Cars legislation, and advocating for the ban on single-use plastic bags. She has also fought for stricter regulations on PFAS to protect the Farmington River and secure funding for cleanup efforts.

In her role as Chair of the Planning & Development Committee, Rep. Degraw plays an instrumental role in advancing the State Plan of Conservation and Development and promoting changes in building codes to increase access to solar panels and energy efficient modifications. In the recent legislative session, Rep. Degraw co-sponsored House Bill 5004, the major climate initiative this year, which she helped to pass in the House. She specifically helped develop provisions included in the bill that pertained to local conservation planning and development.

Rep. Degraw is committed to engaging with her community on environmental issues. She works closely with climate activists, supports climate education, and hosts public forums to address her constituents’ environmental concerns. In future sessions, she plans to advocate for comprehensive waste management solutions, including composting and food waste, and help bring resources to state and local town efforts.

“Representative Eleni Kavros DeGraw’s dedication to environmental protection and sustainable development is exemplary,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “Her leadership on climate initiatives and community engagement demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing clean energy and conservation efforts in her district and for our state.”

To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on candidates’ responses, voting records in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues.
