Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Jennifer Leeper to represent the 132nd House District of the CT General Assembly including the town of Fairfield. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection. In the previous legislative session, Rep. Jennifer Leeper earned a perfect 100% rating on CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard. "Representative Jennifer Leeper is a passionate advocate for environmental progress. She is committed to advancing clean air standards and promoting sustainable practices for a healthier environment," said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. Leeper has been especially active on climate change, voting in support of major climate legislation and co-sponsoring bills to expand solar energy. She has also worked tirelessly with the Department of Transportation to improve their policies on roadside tree cutting and their impact on noise pollution. Leeper’s work on the Environment Committee helped ensure passage of legislation to reduce the toxic chemical “PFAS” that is contaminating our water. Her fight to restrict poisonous neonics and rodenticides from our environment, update car emissions standards to clean our air, and modernize our state’s waste management efforts highlight her dedication to passing strong environmental policies. “Jennifer Leaper’s proactive approach and focus on protecting both our health and our planet make her an extremely effective legislator at the Capitol,” said Brown. To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on candidates’ responses, voting records in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues. Comments are closed.
