Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Lucy Dathan to represent the 142th House District of the CT General Assembly including the towns of New Canaan and Norwalk. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection. In the recent legislative session, Rep. Lucy Dathan earned a perfect 100% rating on CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard. “Representative Lucy Dathan has shown strong leadership in advancing legislation to clean our air, support clean energy, and better manage our growing waste problem,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “Through her work on the Appropriations Committee, Dathan is dedicated to ensuring that Connecticut invests in sustainability initiatives. Her commitment to securing critical funding for these efforts will be key to making real progress and ensuring that environmental solutions can be effectively implemented across the state." Dathan also sees a lot of opportunity in our state to utilize our natural resources as some of the best nature-based solutions we already have to combat the effects of climate change. And when it comes to addressing our state’s waste management problems, Dathan has been working with local environmental leaders in Fairfield County to increase funding to expand the existing food scraps pilot program. She is seeking additional state bond funding to help towns establish sustainable food scraps program. To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on candidates’ responses, voting records in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues. Comments are closed.
