Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Paul Honig (D) to represent the 8th Senate District including the towns of Avon, Barkhamsted, Canton, Colebrook, Granby, Hartland, Harwinton, New Hartford, Norfolk, Simsbury, and Torrington. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection.
Paul Honig is a dedicated advocate for environmental issues in Connecticut, championing sustainable construction practices and investing in energy efficiency solutions as essential to lowering electric bills. His dedication goes beyond advocacy; he leads by example. Honig is proud to have built the state’s first certified Passive House in Connecticut, which won the CT Zero Energy Challenge and was widely publicized. He also drives an electric vehicle, further demonstrating his commitment to sustainable practices. By choosing an electric vehicle, Honig not only aligns with his values but also highlights the importance of government efforts to educate the public on the benefits of cleaner energy options.

With a background in finance and experience in local government serving on the Harwinton Board of Selectmen, Honig is well equipped to advance Connectict’s environmental goals. His financial expertise enables him to develop cost-effective, sustainable policies, ensuring green initiatives are both impactful and economically viable. Additionally, his local government experience allows him to integrate environmental strategies effectively at the community level, balancing the needs of residents and businesses.
“Paul Honig is a strong advocate for sustainable development and clean energy,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “His financial expertise and local leadership are crucial for advancing Connecticut’s environmental goals. We’re confident in his ability to drive impactful and practical solutions, in clear contrast to some lawmakers who are blocking progress.”

To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses, their voting record in our Scorecard, and their demonstrated leadership on specific issues.
