Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan (D) to represent the 2nd House District of the CT General Assembly including the towns of Bethel and Danbury. Voters have long relied on CTLCV's endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection. Allie-Brennan has earned this endorsement for the third time, reflecting his steadfast commitment to advancing environmental issues and his proven track record of effective advocacy. During the recent legislative session, Rep. Allie-Brennan made significant contributions to environmental policy. As Chair of the House Select Committee on Sustainable and Renewable Energy, he directed federal Inflation Reduction Act funds to clean energy projects, promoting increased clean energy use and to help lower taxpayer energy rates. He also organized a roundtable forum focusing on low-income communities and solar energy. In addition, Rep. Allie-Brennan serves on the Energy and Technology Committee, where he has played a pivotal role in passing legislation with PURA to enhance oversight and accountability of Eversource, particularly concerning rate hikes after major outages. He has been a leading advocate for solar energy and played a significant role in passing Connecticut’s major offshore wind expansion. Named an Energy and Environment Fellow by Future Caucus in 2024, this distinction underscores his dedication to advancing sustainable practices and his commitment to leading meaningful change for future generations. Looking ahead, Representative Allie-Brennan is committed to ensuring that Connecticut strikes a balance between maintaining a reliable power supply and accelerating the transition to renewable energy. “Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan is a dedicated champion for clean energy and climate resilience,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “His leadership in advancing sustainable energy solutions is crucial for Connecticut’s environmental future.” To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses, their voting record in our Scorecard, and their demonstrated leadership on specific issues. ### The CT League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) is a nonpartisan statewide organization dedicated to protecting Connecticut’s environment.
