The transportation sector contributes 40% of Connecticut’s total greenhouse gas emissions that disproportionately harm urban, low-income, and minority populations in our state. If we want to meet our carbon reduction goals and fight climate change, it's critical that we work together to devise new solutions centered on public transportation, electrification, and more.
We will discuss Connecticut’s role in the Transportation & Climate Initiative (TCI), a multi-state effort to reduce transportation emissions, identify opportunities to engage in the TCI process, and identify how this effort aligns with your organization’s mission and goals. TCI will address and fund cross-cutting issues such as housing, health, access to transportation and jobs, climate change and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Your voice at the table is extraordinarily important in this effort to effectively address a broad range of issues for communities bearing the disproportionate effect of pollution.
TRANSIT OPTIONS TO CAPITAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Bus Transit - There are several routes to downtown Hartford and specifically to 950 Main Street. Look up transit times and schedules on Google Maps.
Commuter Rail - 950 Main Street is a half mile walk from Hartford's Union Station.
Walking - Downtown Hartford and several neighboring neighborhoods are within a 20 minute walk to Capital Community College.
Bicycling - Bike racks are in front of 950 and 960 Main Street. There is an indoor bike rack inside the first floor stairwell just off the lobby. Use a secure lock and don't leave accessories on your bike. The meeting will end after dark so a bike light is suggested.
Car Parking - Parking in the Morgan Street Garage (150 Morgan Street) can be validated at the event registration table. Paid street parking is available all around Capital Community College.
