LCV SCORECARD

Knowing exactly what politicians do in Washington is core to a functioning democracy. That’s where the 2019 National Environmental Scorecard comes in. Our partners at the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) tallied the most critical environmental votes in Congress from the last year so you can know exactly how our representatives voted on critical issues impacting our communities and environment.

2019 LCV SCORECARD

Connecticut once again emerged as a national leader on environmental issues, with our Congressional Delegation among the highest scoring in the nation.

Unfortunately, progress on environmental issues  on the national level remains slow-going thanks to anti-environmental lawmakers in Congress and Trump's science-denying agenda in the White House. That's why action at the state level remains so important.

Here in Connecticut, we know climate change is a critical issue. We know the air we breathe and water we drink are worth protecting. We can take action even when Washington won't.

HOW DID WE SCORE

Here in Connecticut, we know we need to #ActOnClimate. We've made the environment a priority, and our Congressional Delegation did the same. Connecticut is one of the highest scoring states in the nation on environmental concerns. Here's how our delegation did:
Sen. Chris Murphy
100%
Sen. Richard Blumenthal
100%
Rep. John Larson (CT-01)
96%
Rep. Joe Courtney (CT-02)
93%
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT-03)
97%
Rep. Jim Himes (CT-04)
97%
Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT-05)
97%
On the whole, our Senators averaged a perfect 100% in 2019, leading the nation in pro-environment votes. Our Congressional Delegation in the House average 96% in the nation, and all of the New England states scored in the top 10 pro-environment states nation-wide.

CTLCV applauds our Congressional Delegation for standing up to Trump and his coal-lobbyist cronies on the environmental issues that matter most!
