Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) congratulated Sen. Beth Bye (D-5; Bloomfield, Burlington, Farmington, West Hartford) on her victory in the 5th State Senate District. CTLCV endorsed Bye because of her longtime work to protect the water we drink and other key environmental priorities. “Sen. Bye has always been adamant that water is a public trust, and she doesn’t back down from a fight,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “She is one of CTLCV’s true environmental champions, and it’s clear the voters of the 5th District trust her to look after their clean air and water. With the State Water Plan returning to the legislature next session, we look forward to continuing our work with Sen. Bye to put people’s basic needs ahead of special interests.” Bye was one of 36 candidates CTLCV endorsed in the 2018 elections. Live updates on the election—including an up-to-the-minute count of CTLCV’s victories--can be found on our website. ###
