CTLCV Congratulates Devin Carney on Victory

11/7/2018

Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) congratulates Rep. Devin Carney (R-23; Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Westbrook) on his victory in the 23rd State House District. CTLCV endorsed Carney for his strong support for clean energy in Connecticut.

“Rep. Carney knows clean energy is key to fighting climate change and creating thousands of jobs in Connecticut,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “As Co-Chair of the bipartisan Clean Energy Caucus, Rep. Carney was one of the first to sign our Clean Energy for All pledge to move Connecticut to 100% clean energy by 2050 or sooner. With the latest reports from the United Nations and scientists worldwide urging our lawmakers to act on climate before it’s too late, Rep. Carney’s victory today shows clearly that voters are taking these matters seriously and looking for their leaders to do the same. We at CTLCV look forward to working with Rep. Carney in the days ahead to continuing growing Connecticut’s investment in clean energy.”

Carney was one of 36 candidates CTLCV endorsed in the 2018 elections. Live updates on the election—including an up-to-the-minute count of CTLCV’s victories--can be found on our website.
