Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) congratulates Rep. Jonathan Steinberg (D-136; Westport) on his victory in the 136th State House District. CTLCV endorsed Steinberg based on his longtime work to protect Long Island Sound, grow our investments in clean energy, and cut our carbon emissions. “Rep. Steinberg is one of our true environmental champions, and CTLCV worked hard to make sure our members and voters knew the impact he’s had on our clean air and water,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “Through emails and digital advertisements, we spread the word about Rep. Steinberg’s key role in doubling Connecticut’s clean energy investments and slashing our carbon emissions in half. Climate change is one of the most critical issues facing our generation, and Rep. Steinberg’s victory makes it clear voters agree. His work on water issues is also unsurpassed, and we at CTLCV look forward to continuing our work with him in the upcoming legislative session.” Steinberg was one of 36 candidates CTLCV endorsed in the 2018 elections. Live updates on the election—including an up-to-the-minute count of CTLCV’s victories--can be found on our website. ###
