Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Democrat Eleni Kavros DeGraw for the Connecticut General Assembly. DeGraw is running for the open seat in the 17th House District. She is a strong supporter of clean energy, land conservation, wildlife protections, and water as a public trust. She knows investing in renewable energy will both help us fight climate change and create good jobs in a growing field.
“Eleni knows that moving Connecticut to 100% clean energy will both help us fight climate change and create good, high-paying jobs,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “Clean energy already supports roughly 38,000 jobs in Connecticut, and the field is on the rise. Given Washington’s emphasis on coal and fossil fuels, we need leaders like Eleni here in Connecticut who are ready to fight for clean energy and the workers it supports.” To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, candidates must have completed the Survey on the Environment earlier this summer. All candidates running for legislative office were invited to complete the questionnaire, and CTLCV received over 100 responses. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses as well as additional information provided to CTLCV’s Endorsement Committee. These endorsements represent the third round in an ongoing endorsement process.
