Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Representative Greg Haddad (D) to represent the 54th House District including the town of Mansfield. Gregg Haddad has consistently earned high marks on CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard and has worked to preserve open space and advance energy conservation in his district for many years. He currently serves on the committee for Higher Education & Employee Advancement and chairs the Appropriations subcommittee for Higher Education. Representative Haddad has been leading an effort to require College and University institutions such as UConn to adhere to Connecticut’s statewide climate energy goals when building new facilities. He also wants to require clean sources of new energy for these facilities. “Gregg Haddad is a committed advocate. His work in education and the environment is making important strides for his district and helping to lead our state towards a clean and sustainable energy future,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. Looking ahead to the next legislative session, Representative Haddad plans to continue his work with local advocates to create sustainable alternatives to the overuse of fossil fuels. To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses, their voting record in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues. ### The CT League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) is a nonpartisan statewide organization dedicated to protecting Connecticut's environment. CTLCV works to pass equitable and sustainable legislation that impacts our air, land, water, wildlife, and climate and holds all state legislators accountable with an annual Environmental Scorecard.
