CTLCV Endorses Alex Larsson for the Connecticut General Assembly

10/1/2018

Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Democrat Alex Larsson for the Connecticut General Assembly. Larsson is challenging Republican incumbent David Wilson to represent the 66th House District. Larsson has been a strong supporter for the ban on harmful single-use plastic bags in his community in Litchfield, and is passionate about protecting open space. He knows that investing in clean energy will bring jobs to his district and Connecticut, and his passion for the environment stands in stark contrast to his opponent, Wilson, who scored an abysmal 48% in CTLCV’s 2018 Environmental Scorecard.

“Alex has been an active champion for the environment in his community,” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director. “He knows the threat plastics pose to our waterways and the delicate ecosystems they support, and he strongly supports bans on single-use plastic bags. Connecticut’s trails and open spaces are some of our most valuable treasures, and Alex is passionate about giving towns and municipalities more ways to invest in their parks, greenways, and historic properties. He is a bright, forward-thinking candidate, and we need more leaders like Alex at the Capitol.”

To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, candidates must have completed the Survey on the Environment earlier this summer. All candidates running for legislative office were invited to complete the questionnaire, and CTLCV received over 100 responses. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses as well as additional information provided to CTLCV’s Endorsement Committee.

This endorsement is part of the third round of CTLCV's ongoing endorsement process. A full list of CTLCV’s endorsements can be found on our website.
